Mivule is a diverse band incorporating the styles of Reggae, Afrobeat, and Dub with lyrics in multiple languages. Ugandan singer and songwriter Brian Broda is the powerhouse frontman of Mivule, delivering messages of social justice, love and peace. Brian Baroda – Main Vocals, guitar, percussion, Salvador Llanes – Keyboard, Matt Yard – Guitar, bass Jesiah Yarish – Drums, percussion, guitar, vocals. Mivule is a 4-piece multicultural band incorporating the sounds of Reggae, Afrobeat and Dub, with lyrics in English and various African languages. The name “Mivule” is derived from the Mivule Tree, which is a type of teak wood tree found in Uganda. The tree is a place where the village meets to settle disputes and represents peace. Established in 2019, Mivule plays at local venues in Vancouver monthly/bi-monthly and is excited to find ways to reach wider audiences.
